What is Youth Week?
Youth Week is Western Australia’s biggest annual celebration of young people aged 10-25, recognising their valuable contributions and providing them opportunities to express ideas, raise important issues and connect with peers in their local communities.
‘Our Threads’ represents interconnectedness and young people coming together across WA to share their stories and experiences.
‘This Place’ references the physical and social environments that young people inhabit and celebrates the diverse communities and landscapes that make up WA.
‘Your Moment’ acknowledges WA’s incredible young people and is a reminder that they can make an impact, be seen and feel connected, now and into the future.
The Collaboration between Mens Talk and Kai Fella for Young Men’s Mental Wellbeing
A collaboration between Men’s Talk and Kai Fella during Youth Week creates a powerful platform to promote mental health and wellbeing for boys and young men through the Arts. Creative expression fosters self-confidence, emotional resilience, and connection—key elements for mental health. Showcasing young talents in music, film, drama, and visual arts normalises conversations about emotions and wellbeing, breaking down stigmas and empowering positive masculinity. Together, these charities amplify their reach, combining expertise to support youth development and mental health. By celebrating creativity as a tool for self-expression and healing, this partnership inspires young men to explore their potential while reinforcing the importance of community and mental wellness in their lives.
